    The total cost for ADHD assessments at Lynch NP Services is 399$.

    Follow up treatment appointments are 69$.

    Fees are subject to change, please ensure you confirm the fee directly with Lynch NP services prior to booking.

  • Adults 18+ located in Ontario at the time of the assessment.

  • You can self-refer for an ADHD assessment with a nurse practitioner, but if you are meeting with one of our counsellors they can also support you by sending along some collateral information to help inform your assessment.

  • No, but in order to curate the most effective treatment plan, an assessment is strongly recommended. While counselling and medical treatments for ADHD are both effective on their own, the best outcomes generally come from a combination of both that is informed by a comprehensive assessment.

  • We can offer counselling and coaching based on the recommendations of your previous assessment. If you’d like to explore medical treatment with Lynch NP services based on your prior assessment please contact them to discuss your options.

  • Unfortunately not, nurse practitioners in Ontario are currently not able to bill OHIP directly. ADHD and mental health assessments for adults are difficult to obtain within the public health care system as there are few physicians specializing in this area and they often have long waitlists. This service seeks to fill that gap.

    The assessment fee may be eligible to be claimed as a medical expense on your income taxes and some extended health benefits (particularly health care spending accounts) may cover the cost of the assessment.

    Please check with your benefits administrator or tax professional before booking to confirm your coverage.

  • Diagnosing ADHD and mental health concerns is a complex process and we want to make sure we’re getting it right. The Nurse Practitioners at Lynch NP services will work with you at every step along the way to ensure you receive a comprehensive assessment and provide you with a diagnosis if you meet the criteria. In some cases further assessment may be required if there may be other diagnoses causing your symptoms. If this is the case the nurse practitioner may need to meet with you a couple more times before providing a diagnosis or they may refer you to another specialist for further testing and assessment.

  • Yes, nurse practitioners are independent medical providers that are authorized to diagnose, order diagnostic tests and prescribe medication. The team at Lynch NP services have a specialized practice in ADHD and mental health care, and they offer comprehensive assessments that go beyond what is typically offered in the provincial health care system.

  • Yes, if you fit the criteria for medical treatment the nurse practitioner completing your assessment can initiate treatment. They can also send treatment recommendations directly to your family doctor. Keep in mind that most medications for ADHD are controlled substances and a prescription would be at the discretion of the prescriber. Given the specialized expertise of the Nurse Practitioners at Lynch NP services, they are comfortable helping you find the right medication and the right dose based on your specific situation.
