We’re now recruiting Registered Social Workers new to private practice for our paid externship program launching this September.
Program Highlights:
6 month program, with employment opportunities available upon successful completion.
Opportunity for new graduates and experienced social workers to branch out into private practice with additional support and training.
Part-time to start with the possibility to grow into full time role.
Providing individual psychotherapy to children, youth and adults presenting with a diversity of concerns.
Competitive compensation starting at $80 (MSW) per session and increasing to $90 per session upon completion of the 6-month program.
4 hours per month of clinical supervision (individual and group).
Learn to apply leading trauma informed interventions and discover your unique social work psychotherapy praxis.
Monthly lunch and learn series.
Supportive team environment with opportunities for ongoing professional development and clinical consultation.
Facilitated peer mentorship with a colleague already established in private practice.

This role is an opportunity for new graduates as well as experienced social workers new to private practice to transition into private practice in a supportive environment.

Prior experience with children and youth

Minimum Qualifications:
MSW preferred; will consider BSW candidates with at least 3 years post-graduate experience
Registered Social Worker with OCSWSSW
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Willingness to obtain and provide evidence of 2+ million dollars in professional liability insurance
Other Assets:
Trained or pursuing training in at least 1 of the following trauma informed psychotherapy models: IFS, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Sensorimotor, NARM, Brainspotting, EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Narrative Therapy or AEDP
Training and experience in couples and/or family counselling
