What You Can Expect from Relationship and Couples Counselling
Relationships are hard work. You try so hard to understand and meet each other's needs but it still feels like its not enough. When you come to relationship counselling you can expect us to remain a neutral third party completely invested in the health of your relationship. We will give each member an equal opportunity to share their perspective and experience. We'll help you learn to approach conflict respectfully and fairly, to understand each other's unique emotional needs and to respond effectively to each other's wounds. We'll help you create your own unique map to a satisfying and loving relationship that is grounded in friendship, growing in trust and guarded by mutual respect.
LGBTQ+ Relationship Counselling
It's likely that you didn't have any role modelling of healthy queer relationships in your family of origin. It's also likely that the relationships you were surrounded by were heavily saturated in outdated gender norms that aren't a fit for you, your relationship or your values. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and non-binary people experience unique challenges in their relationships and need unique solutions. We are pleased to have a number of counsellors who are proud members of the queer community and look forward to helping you achieve the loving relationship you've always deserved.
Due to the limited availability of LGBTQ+ focused relationship counsellors, we’re proud to offer online counselling to couples and relationships across Ontario (and Canada).
Polyamorous Relationship Counselling
We understand that not all intimate relationships are made up of just two people and affirm all forms of consensual non-monogamy. We are honoured to help non-monogamous couples and relationships that consist of three or more members communicate their boundaries, their expectations, their hopes and their needs. Polyamorous relationship counselling can focus on a particular dyad in the relationship or include all members depending on your specific needs and goals.
