(she/we) BSW, MSW, RSW (ON, SK, NWT & BC) and RCSW (AB)

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor

Shayla (she/we) is a board approved clinical supervisor and an interprovincial clinical social worker with over 12 years of practice experience bearing witnesses to the multi- storied journeys of children, youth, their families, adults, and organizations in multifaceted capacities. Rooted in African Worldview and grounded in UBUNTU ways of being, SANKOFA values and other indigenous ways of knowing, she is passionate about decolonizing mental health and wellness services using culturally responsive and anti-oppressive healing centred approaches that cultivate the integration of intersectionality, which fosters equitable human co- existence, collective healing, and conscious togetherness. Shayla believes when mental health care is cultural humility centred and identity affirming, healing is possible because psychological safety can only be achieved where there is cultural safety. Shayla also finds joy in providing equitable and inclusive supervision to fellow clinicians and believes in co-learning and co-growing with fellow colleagues/supervisees.  Thank you for stopping by to check out my profile, it would be an honour and privilege to journey alongside you.
